Startup, Shutdown and Malfunction
Regardless of operations and maintenance practices associated with plant operations and air pollution control equipment, metal casting facilities may sometimes have emissions in excess of their air permit limits, limits that were established for “steady-state” plant operations and not periods of Startup, Shutdown and Malfunction (SSM).
Changes on how these emissions may be regulated are presented below.
