The annual AFS award winners have been announced by the AFS Board of Awards for presentation at CastExpo’16 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 16-19.
The Gold Medal, Award of Scientific Merit and Service Citation Award are presented annually for service to the metalcasting industry. Frank C. Headington, corporate vice president-technology, Neenah Enterprises, Inc., Neenah, Wisconsin and Douglas M. Trinowski, vice president R&D, HA International LLC, Westmont, Illinois, will be given the industry’s top honor—the AFS Gold Medal, during the Annual Banquet on April 17.
Headington will receive the Peter L. Simpson Gold Medal for long-term contributions to the sustainability of the metalcasting industry through both technology efforts and mentoring the next generation of metalcasting professionals.
Trinowski will receive the William H. McFadden Gold Medal for technical contribution to the foundry industry through product/process development and to improving and developing new chemical binder systems for the metalcasting industry.
