AFS to Showcase North American Metalcasters, Innovative Research at GIFA

The American Foundry Society is pleased to announce its participation in the GIFA trade fair, where AFS will promote North American metalcasters, showcase the value of AFS, and highlight its wide range of technical books and research.

Taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany, on June 12-16, 2023, GIFA is a global meeting point for the foundry industry. At the AFS exhibit in Hall 12, Stand E40 – near the World Foundry Organization (WFO) booth – attendees will learn about the extensive resources AFS offers. AFS representatives will be available to discuss the benefits of membership, the latest industry trends, and the significant contributions made by North American metalcasters to the global foundry industry. Award-winning North American castings and Casting Source Directories will be on hand for visitors to view and take, and individuals will be able to purchase memberships and books.

AFS also will take part in the USA-Japan-Germany Young Professionals event at GIFA. This gathering is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and strengthen the international network of emerging talent in the industry. Additionally, Gabriel Garcia, an accomplished young professional from the United States, will present a paper at the 1st WFO Foundry Young Researchers and Early Career Professionals Conference, coordinated by the WFO.

"We are excited for this opportunity to share the achievements of North American metalcasters with the world," said AFS CEO Doug Kurkul. "GIFA provides us with a valuable opportunity to share the expertise of our members and staff, highlight the importance of metalcasting, and foster international cooperation. We look forward to connecting with professionals from around the globe. "

AFS invites all GIFA attendees to visit their booth at Hall 12, Stand E40, to explore technical books, network with staff and other industry professionals, and discuss the advancement of the foundry sector.
