AFS Safe Year Awards honor excellence in manufacturing safety. Recently, the AFS Safety and Health Committee determined that lost-time incidents due to COVID-19 are not a true reflection of a facility’s safety and health management and practices.
Therefore, for Safe Year Award applications, AFS will not consider lost time due to COVID. Facilities are eligible for Safe Year Awards if their only lost time was COVID-related. Due to this change in criteria, AFS has extended the deadline for applications to Friday, July 29, 2022.
AFS Safe Year Awards recognize AFS Corporate Member facilities, at a single location, which have achieved one year (365 consecutive calendar days) without a lost-time incident or fatality.
