Buy America, Supply Chains, Energy to Be Key Topics at AFS Government Affairs Fly-In

Metalcasting leaders will gather on Capitol Hill next month to hear directly from members of Congress, administration officials, and policy experts about what they can expect from Washington in the year ahead and beyond.

The 2022 AFS Government Affairs Fly-In, June 7-8 in Washington, D.C., will include in-depth presentations from insiders focused on regulatory, economic, and political issues that will shape the business landscape for metalcasters. These topics range from supply chain challenges and energy security to environmental justice and Buy American policies:

  • What’s Really Happening in Washington – A member of Congress will provide attendees with an inside look.
  • Mid-Term Elections Preview — A national political expert will walk attendees through key Senate and House races, likely outcomes, and what they mean for business!

The Fly-In also incorporates advocacy opportunities, including meetings with lawmakers and their staffs.

“Rising inflation and fuel costs, workforce shortages, a Congress that hangs in the balance – all this and more mean this is an absolutely crucial time for metalcasters to understand the situation in Washington and how it will affect their businesses,” said AFS CEO Doug Kurkul. “We encourage every foundry and industry supplier to send at least one representative to the Fly-In so they can benefit from the insights that will be shared, the networking on offer, and the chance to stand together to advocate for pro-metalcasting policies on Capitol Hill.”
