The American Foundry Society is excited to share a slate of resources for Corporate Members opening their doors, physically or virtually, for Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 2.
Recognized nationwide the first Friday of October, Manufacturing Day is a great way to connect with local communities and educators to share metalcasting’s crucial role in providing important jobs to the future generation of workers, and in producing goods which form the backbone of U.S. manufacturing.
To support the success of these events, AFS has prepared several resources on its Manufacturing Day webpage, including:
- A Step-by-Step Manufacturing Day guide to put on your own event,
- a news release template to invite local schools, elected officials, and news media to your event,
- a how-to guide on creating your own Foundry-in-A-Box demonstration,
- custom videos profiling metalcasting processes and careers,
- an economic impact analysis showing how the U.S. metalcasting industry supports the wider economy, and
- metalcasting fact sheets, social media graphics, and other promotional materials.
AFS encourages member companies to register their in-person, virtual or hybrid event here.

Instead of a one-day celebration of metalcasting, AFS will dedicate a week, Sept. 28-Oct. 2, to sharing a message about the positive ways metalcasting shapes our world. Follow along on social media with the hashtags #MFGatAFS and #MFGDay.
