Michael L. Lenahan will lead the American Foundry Society and the Institute as President of the Board of Directors for 2020-2021.
Lenahan, CEO of KB Foundry Services (Independence, Ohio), was installed as AFS President this week. A longtime leader in the metalcasting industry, his career began at Sand Products of Cleveland in 1987, the same year he joined AFS. He has been an active member of several AFS chapters and is a past chair of the AFS EHS Division and the AFS Government Affairs Committee.
“AFS is pleased to welcome Mike Lenahan as our new President. He brings years of dedicated service and experience to this role,” said AFS CEO Doug Kurkul. “We also want to express our gratitude to outgoing President Peter Reich for his exemplary leadership over the past year.”
Jim Frost, Director Quality Systems & Compliance, AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company (Birmingham, Alabama) will serve as AFS Vice President. Second Vice President is Adam San Solo, Director of Sales & Engineering, U S Foundry & Manufacturing Company (Medley, Florida). Reich is Immediate Past President, having ended his term as President this week. He is Co-Owner of LAEMPE REICH (Trussville, Alabama).
Joining the AFS Board as the Directors Class of 2020-2024 are Rob Johnson, VP Finance/CFO/Treasurer, Waupaca Foundry (Waupaca, Wisconsin); Jim Mancuso, Vice President, Mancuso Chemicals, Ltd. (Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada); Andrew C. Renkey, President, Harmony Castings/TPI Arcade (Harmony, Pennsylvania); and Peter Satre, Manager – Corporate Engineering, Allied Mineral Products LLC (Columbus, Ohio).
