AFS today announced its annual flagship advocacy event, the Government Affairs Fly-In, has been replaced this year with a three-hour virtual Advocacy Summit, to be held on May 19 at 9 a.m. (CT).
The Advocacy Summit will have an extremely powerful and substantial policy agenda, featuring Labor Secretary Eugene Scalia and other can’t-miss experts. Registrants will participate in interactive discussions and receive the latest information on how they can help AFS positively influence key metalcasting issues, such as infrastructure investment, trade policy and OSHA issues. Disruption of the industry from COVID-19 will also be covered, focusing on support from government agencies for small businesses.
AFS will also unveil new economic research, long-needed by the metalcasting industry, documenting the economic impact of the metalcasting supply chain throughout the United States. Participants will learn about the interactive new map on the AFS website on the economic footprint of the industry by state and congressional district. Panelists for this presentation will be Eric Meyers, Chairman, AFS Government Affairs Committee and CEO of Oil City Iron Works, Inc., Doug Kurkul, CEO, AFS, and Stephanie Salmon, VP Government Affairs, AFS.
The Advocacy Summit is no charge to AFS Corporate Members and Individual Members. One must be an AFS member to participate. To register for this event, click here.
