AFS this week announced that the Casting Industry Suppliers Association (CISA) will again co-sponsor the AFS Government Affairs Fly-In. The Fly-In, to be held May 19-20, brings together foundry and supplier representatives to advocate for the metalcasting industry in the nation’s capital.
Day one features policy briefings, a lunch with elections expert Charlie Cook, and an awards reception at the prestigious Capitol Hill Club. Day two features group meetings—organized by the AFS Washington office—with your own lawmakers and congressional staff.
“The involvement of CISA helps us deliver a strong, unified message on Capitol Hill,” noted AFS CEO Doug Kurkul. “The more that lawmakers understand the importance of metalcasting to the manufacturing economy and our national defense, the more support we can generate for our pro-metalcasting policy agenda.”
AFS will be advocating for a variety of pro-metalcasting policies at the Fly-In. Platinum sponsors of the Fly-In are Oil City Iron Works, Efficiency Aggregators and Waupaca. Gold sponsors to date are ACIPCO, Denison Industries, EJ, Osco Industries and REFCOTEC. Other companies wishing to sponsor should contact John Carano at jcarano@afsinc.org. Registration is now open. Members should register here by April 27 to enjoy optimal Fly-In pricing.
