Toxic Chemical Release Inventory (i.e., Toxics Release Inventory (TRI)) Reporting is required by Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA, or Title III of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986), Public Law 99 499.
Reporting is required to provide information to the public on releases and other waste management of EPCRA Section 313 chemicals in their communities and to provide EPA with release and other waste management information to assist the Agency in determining the need for future regulations. Facilities must report the quantities of routine and accidental releases, and releases resulting from catastrophic or other onetime events of EPCRA Section 313 chemicals, as well as the maximum amount of the EPCRA Section 313 chemical on-site during the calendar year and the amount contained in wastes managed on-site or transferred off-site.

The latest edition of the document entitled “Form R Reporting of Binder Chemicals Used in Foundries” prepared by AFS and CISA is provided below. The document assists foundries on the releases of binder system chemicals during chemically bonded core- and mold-making. Please note that this document does not address air pollutants that may be released during the pouring, cooling and shakeout operations.
