Celebrating Innovation and Excellence in Metalcasting: 2025 Casting of the Year Winners Announced

SCHAUMBURG, IL - Casting Source is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Casting Source Casting of the Year competition, honoring exceptional innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship in the metalcasting industry. This annual celebration recognizes the art and science of metalcasting, showcasing castings that exemplify advanced engineering, design, and manufacturing expertise.

Casting of the Year & Newcomer (Rookie of the Year)
Mueller Company – Monolithic Bypass
Mueller Company took top honors with the highest overall score in the competition. Their Monolithic Bypass casting was praised for its substantial cost and time savings. As a first-time entrant achieving the top score, Mueller also receives the Newcomer of the Year title.

Best Example of a Casting Conversion
Cope & Drag Kustoms – Jeep Wrangler Exterior Door Handle
This project earned the highest score in the Conversion category, recognized for its meticulous attention to detail and impressive conversion from plastic to metal.

Achievement in a Small Foundry Business
Silver Dollar Castings – Stationary Seal
Silver Dollar Castings stood out for their complex internal coring and intricate geometry, earning them the highest score in the Small Foundry category.

Best Innovation/Prototype
Dakota Foundry – Cast Wheel for 1911 Advance Steam Traction Engine
Dakota Foundry was commended for its creative integration of steel inserts, topping the Innovation/Prototype category.

Outstanding Achievements
BRP USA Inc. – I3 Shadow Exhaust
With the second highest overall score, BRP was celebrated for their excellent execution of a lost foam casting.

Aristo-Cast, Inc. – Atlas Aft/Front/Main Housing
Aristo-Cast impressed judges with a highly detailed investment casting, earning the third highest score overall and second place in the Conversion category.


These award-winning castings will be on display at CastExpo 2025, held April 12–15 in Atlanta, as part of the Casting of the Year showcase. Framed signs will highlight each casting’s specifications and unique achievements.

Don’t miss the 2024 Newcomer of the Year, Amsted Rail's GSI Transit Truck Set assembly, also featured in the display. In addition, CastExpo attendees are invited to attend the Buyer/Designer session: 2024 Casting of the Year Case Study featuring St. Marys Foundry, scheduled for Sunday, April 13, from 3:15 to 3:45 PM.
