Metalcasting Congress 2024, the largest gathering of the North American foundry supply chain, will showcase compelling keynotes from three notable speakers. Among them is the sole person to have held positions as both U.S. Secretary of State and CIA Director, Mike Pompeo.
Set to address the audience at Milwaukee's Baird Center on Tuesday, April 23, Secretary Pompeo will explore his extraordinary journey — from graduating at the top of his class at West Point to serving as the nation’s most senior spy at the CIA — providing a unique perspective on "Leadership in Uncertain Times." Attendees can expect a captivating talk that delves into lessons learned in his aerospace, energy, and governmental roles.
Joining the lineup on Wednesday, April 24, is Mike Lenahan, AFS Past President and Executive Vice President - Industrial Sales at Badger Mining Corp. In his Hoyt Memorial Lecture, "Embracing Adversity – Mining the Riches from Life’s Challenges," Lenahan will share profound insights gained from his career, which started in 1987 and evolved into executive roles. With experience in foundry sands, spent sand recycling, and leadership within AFS, Lenahan's keynote will be an exploration of resilience presented through the eyes of an industry veteran.
Closing the keynote series on Thursday, April 25, is Meridith Elliott Powell, an award-winning author, speaker, and business strategist. Powell's background in corporate leadership and sales, combined with her journey to the C-Suite, positions her as a sought-after expert. In her keynote, “Successful Succession Strategies for Manufacturers of Every Size", Powell will provide practical advice to guide leaders through the intricacies of succession planning.
Presented by the American Foundry Society, Metalcasting Congress 2024 runs April 23 – 25 at the Baird Center in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Keynotes begin daily at 10:30 a.m. in Ballroom AB.
