Understand the complexities of foundry air permit compliance at the Advanced Air Seminar
The AFS Advanced Air Seminar is where the rubber meets the road for fully understanding foundry air permit compliance.
If you are responsible for environmental air permit compliance in addition to everything else you do, you need to attend the 2023 AFS Advanced Air Seminar, May 9-10 in Schaumburg, Illinois. Making process changes at the foundry? Planning a significant expansion? Currently a minor source and thinking of becoming a major source? Time for a Title V permit renewal? Answer yes to any of these and any number of other questions, then you need to know the ins and outs of existing and changing regulatory requirements.
The more fluent you are with the regulatory language, the more you understand what’s required and, more maybe more importantly, what your options will be the next time you apply to renew or modify your air permit. In addition to the currently more complex permitting and enforcement regimes on air quality issues, EPA’s proposal to lower the PM2.5 NAAQS, federal and state focus on environmental justice, and state air toxics policies and regulations are likely going to add complexity to facility permits and operations.
This seminar is for individuals with a basic knowledge and understanding of EPA air regulations and air emission calculations. It will build on basic knowledge with advanced practical knowledge, tools and techniques needed to address relatively complex foundry air emission issues. This two-day seminar will cover our main topics – Emission Estimation, Permitting, Regulatory Requirements and Compliance Demonstration. For each topic, classroom instruction will be followed by a working group session where small groups complete hypothetical air emission problems. There will be an open discussion on real world implications for each.
