AFS Announces 2024 Board of Directors Nominees

The American Foundry Society, North America's largest professional and technical association for the metalcasting sector, has announced the nominees for its Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 term. Together, the nominees bring tremendous expertise and wisdom to the Board of Directors.

John Lancaster, Plant Director at General Motors, has been nominated for the position of AFS 2nd Vice President. He previously served on the AFS Board from 2019 through 2023.

Lancaster will join President Angela Schmeisser (St. Marys Foundry), Vice President David Gilson (SinterCast), and Immediate Past President Bradford Muller (Charlotte Pipe & Foundry), each of whom will rotate into these new positions. Adam San Solo, the current Immediate Past President, will conclude his term on the Board.

The nominees for the AFS Directors Class of 2024-2028 are:

• Susan Bear, Chief Technology Officer (Grede Castings);
• Bob Braun, President-Foundry (Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co.);
• Kelley Kerns, Director of New Business Development (HA International); and
• Paul Leonard, President (RLM Industries).

Directors Class members will serve four-year terms, starting at the conclusion of Metalcasting Congress 2024 in April. AFS members and guests are invited to attend the Volunteer Leadership Awards Luncheon, where outgoing and new Board members will be recognized.
