The American Foundry Society’s Board of Directors has a new elected leader following the inauguration of Adam San Solo as president for 2022-2023.
San Solo’s term officially began following the closure of CastExpo 2022, which ran in Columbus from April 23-26 with 288 exhibits, more than 100 presentations and nearly 4,800 attendees.
San Solo is Vice President – Infrastructure for Neenah Enterprises. He succeeds Michael L. Lenahan (Senior Industrial Sales, Badger Mining Corp.), who is now the board’s Immediate Past President. San Solo previously served on the AFS Board of Directors from 2012 to 2016. He has degrees from Columbia Engineering and Yeshiva University.
“AFS is privileged to be led by a Board of dedicated, experienced professionals representing a broad cross-section of the North American metalcasting supply chain,” said AFS CEO Doug Kurkul. “We welcome Adam San Solo as our new President, and we express our thanks to outgoing President Mike Lenahan for his years of leadership and service to the Society.”
Joining the AFS Executive Committee as 2nd Vice President is St. Marys Foundry President and CEO Angela Schmeisser. She was a member of the 2019-2023 Directors Class.
Moving into the role of AFS Vice President is Bradford Muller (Vice President of Marketing, Charlotte Pipe & Foundry).
AFS also welcomed a new Directors Class at CastExpo. Making up the 2022-2026 Class are Alan Brink (President, Spring City Electrical), George Boyd Jr. (Managing Member, Goldens’ Foundry & Machine Company), Michael Halsband (President & CEO, Roberts Sinto Corporation), and Bill Nestel (Vice President of Manufacturing, Rochester Metals Corporation).
