Jean Bye to Deliver 2022 Hoyt Lecture on Long-Term Success

A metalcasting leader whose distinguished career spanned five decades will share her keys for long-term success during a keynote address at CastExpo 2022.

Industry veteran Jean Bye started at Dotson Iron Castings as an intern in 1972. Nearly 50 years later, she retired as its CEO. From economic booms and busts to destructive fires and resilient rebuilding, Bye's career comprised the kinds of challenges and opportunities every metalcaster will recognize.

In her 2022 Hoyt Memorial Lecture, “Seven Keys to Long-Term Success: Lessons From a 50-Year Career,” Bye will explore what she learned about continuous improvement, defeating biases, building up employees, choosing the right battles, and more.

In addition to her former roles at Dotson Iron Castings, including CEO and Executive Chair of the Board, Bye is a Past President of the American Foundry Society. The Manufacturing Institute recognized her with the Women in Manufacturing STEP Ahead Award, which honors women who have demonstrated excellence and leadership in their careers in manufacturing.

“Seven Keys to Long-Term Success: Lessons From a 50-Year Career” is one of three keynotes happening live at CastExpo 2022, April 23-26 in Columbus, Ohio. Bye’s lecture will start at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 24.

Delivered annually at CastExpo and Metalcasting Congress since 1938, Hoyt Memorial Lectures are presented by some of the most respected thought-leaders in worldwide metalcasting and represent the pinnacle of industry lectures.

Keynotes are included with admission to CastExpo 2022, North America’s largest metalcasting trade show and congress. To learn more about exhibits, education sessions, special events, and other benefits of attending CastExpo, or to register, click here.
