AFS Issues Call for Presentations for Foundry 4.0 Conference

AFS has issued a call for presentations for the Foundry 4.0 Conference, which will look into the future and ask, “What will a foundry look like in 10 years?”

The conference will focus on how digital manufacturing affects all areas of the foundry process today, and how this will change the foundry of the future. Key seminar topics are data collection and management, data-driven decision-making, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, wearable technology, robotics, automation, and cyber security, as well as the related issues of workforce development, recruiting, and training.

AFS is also seeking case studies and practical examples demonstrating the implementation of data collection, automation, and digital technologies to change and improve operations today.

Foundry 4.0 will be June 9-10, 2020, at Eaglewood Resort in Itasca, Illinois.

Proposals are due by Dec. 1, 2019. Formal technical papers will be accepted (but not required), and publication is available on request. Submit potential presentations, including topic and a brief abstract, to AFS Senior Technical Associate Bo Wallace at bwallace@afsinc.org.
