A brand new summit from AFS promises to develop the leadership savvy of metalcasters.
The AFS Metalcasting Management and Development Summit is Feb. 7-8 in Charleston, South Carolina. The theme of the summit is “Preparing our talent and culture for the future,” and it will cover contemporary workplace issues – everything from medical marijuana laws and the #metoo movement to ways to retain top talent and identify leadership blind spots.
“The summit will help define your leadership skills and provide actionable items to take back to your workplace,” said Cathy Potts, AFS HR director.
Although hosted by the Human Resources Committee, this event is designed with more than HR personnel in mind. Front-line supervisors, managers, members of Women in Metalcasting and Future Leaders of Metalcasting, and anyone looking to build their professional development skills will find the summit engaging and useful.
Presenters include Kevin Mays, CEO of Mays Leadership; attorney Mitch Quick of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP; Kirk Vitello, a certified Dale Carnegie trainer for Dale Carnegie South Carolina; and coach, speaker and social media influencer Curt Mercadante.
