AFS Publishes New Aluminum Casting Handbook

The American Foundry Society (AFS) has announced that the third edition of “Aluminum Casting Technology” will be available for purchase in the fall of 2017.

Most recently published in 1993, “Aluminum Casting Technology” has become one of the key resources for aluminum metalcasting personnel throughout North America and the world. The aluminum shape casting industry has grown considerably since the prior edition with many expanded product applications.

Aluminum casting usage in the automotive, military, aerospace, electronics industries, and other commercial applications have grown as light-weighting and energy conservation have gained momentum, taking advantage of aluminum’s inherent benefits.

Respected metalcasting industry whiz David Neff coordinated the review and compilation of this update. Neff collaborated with more than 55 contributing authors who are all recognized experts in the field of aluminum metalcasting and supporting technology.
