Sept. 15 Webinar: OSHA’s New Crystalline Silica Standard and Pending Lawsuit

The American Foundry Society (AFS) is hosting a webinar, 11 a.m., September 15 to prepare you for what’s next regarding OSHA’s New Crystalline Silica Standard and Pending Lawsuit. Register here.

On September 26, 2017, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the AFS litigation challenging the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) crystalline silica rule. AFS and the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) sued OSHA following the release of the final silica rule last March 2016. Several industry sectors, including a large coalition of construction associations, as well as organized labor are parties to the lawsuit as well.

Webinar panelists Brad Hammock, partner in the firm of Jackson Lewis, and Stephanie Salmon of the AFS Washington Office, will provide a detailed overview of the litigation, key issues that will be raised during oral arguments, and potential outcomes. The webinar will also highlight the association’s recent advocacy and outreach activities with Congress and the administration.
