The Women in Metalcasting program started three years ago and has been steadily gaining momentum ever since. The group focuses on promoting the success of women in metalcasting and provides a critical forum for discussions, networking opportunities, mentoring, and best practices to benefit members personally and professionally.
The organization’s membership has quadrupled, from 60 to 256 since starting in 2014.
To underscore the emergence of the organization in the industry, Women in Metalcasting will be a featured part of the 121st Metalcasting Congress, April 25-27, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee.
“It is so exciting to be part of Women in Metalcasting,” said Patti Buksa, chair of Women in Metalcasting. “We are women dedicated to this industry who network with and mentor each other. We represent all aspects of the industry and all stages of careers. We are honored to promote our industry while providing a platform for the increasing number of women who are pursuing careers in metalcasting.”
Along with sponsoring an important education session at the Metalcasting Congress, the group is holding a breakfast, 7:30-9 a.m., April 26 in Ballroom A. To attend the breakfast RSVP by April 17.
The education workshop, Building Positive Buzz: Intentionally Shaping Your Reputation Through Emotional Intelligence, is at 1:30 p.m., April 26 in Room 203D. Admission to the workshop is included in the registration fee for the overall event.
The workshop can be best described as highly engaging.
