Members of Congress are back in their states for the month of August and then again in October. This is an ideal time for metalcasters and suppliers across the country to host their representatives and senators for educational tours at their facilities.
“Legislators value the opportunity to tour manufacturers that are making a positive contribution to their states and districts,” said Brad Muller, Vice President Sales and Marketing, Charlotte Pipe, and AFS Government Affairs chairman. “And for AFS members, plant tours offer an excellent way to connect on a personal level with lawmakers and allow them to see firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing foundries.”
A typical plant tour lasts about an hour, allowing metalcasters to cover the metalcasting process and showcase your facilities' investments in energy efficiency, environmental and safety projects, as well as capital equipment. Key issues to discuss include impact of OSHA’s final silica rulemaking, EPA’s Clean Power Plan and Ozone rule, as well as tax reform.
