Air Toxics

Air toxics are pollutants that are known or suspected to cause cancer or other health effects.  Certain source of air toxics   are regulated at the federal-level as a hazardous air pollutants (HAPs)  under Section 112 of the Clean Air Act.  In addition, air toxics are also regulated at the state level by many states. At the federal level, EPA has promulgated National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs) regulations for over 150 source categories, including ferrous and non-ferrous foundry source categories (see below).
