Many foundries are experiencing more frequent requests from customers to report Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and some foundries are curious to understand internally what their GHG emissions are for benchmarking purposes. The AFS EHS Division’s Air Quality Committee’s Climate Change Working Group has put together guidance on Estimating Scope 1 and 2 GHG Emissions. This guidance document is a resource to help foundries understand the basics of GHG reporting and provides a step-by-step guide to quickly get started at examining your greenhouse gas emissions for purposes of internal and external reporting of GHGs to customers and stakeholders.
