CastExpo 2025 Hotels & Transportation

HOTELS

Our host hotel is the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park, conveniently located in the heart of downtown Atlanta. In addition to the Omni, we have secured special rates at eight nearby hotels to provide a variety of options for your stay. Be sure to make your reservations by the cutoff date, March 17, 2025, to take advantage of these exclusive rates.  When making hotel reservations for company staff, exhibitors should take into account the exhibit set-up dates as well as the official show dates.

Unauthorized Hotel Offers for Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo

Unfortunately, it is now common practice for unauthorized companies to claim to be official housing providers for trade shows and other large events, including Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo. Usually called “room poachers,” these companies target exhibitors and attendees with aggressive emails or phone calls claiming to offer supposed discounts on hotel rooms or incorrectly stating that room blocks are nearing or at capacity. Please note the American Foundry Society, Metalcasting Congress and CastExpo ARE NOT affiliated with third-party travel agents, wholesalers or other outside agencies claiming to offer hotel reservations.

To book a hotel for an AFS event, exhibitors and attendees should use the resources provided to them at AFSinc.org or through other official AFS communications. AFS works directly with hotels to reserve rooms that are conveniently located and meet our quality standards. In exchange for booking large room blocks, hotels offer reservations at a discount, and AFS also receives other considerations that in turn benefit our exhibitors and attendees.

If you receive an email or other communication from a company you suspect is unaffiliated with AFS or its events, please contact us.

How room poaching works (or doesn’t)

“Poaching” is carried out by third parties that seek out major conventions and trade shows and solicit hotel reservations from people or businesses they expect to attend. Often, these solicitations include scare tactics intended to make people believe hotels are sold out many months in advance.

Unfortunately, booking a room through a poacher can lead to outrageously costly cancellation fees, bad accommodations far from the event site, or, worst of all, being charged for a room that hasn’t been reserved at all.

TRANSPORTATION

Getting to Atlanta

Atlanta is well-connected and accessible from most major cities by air, car, and train.

  1. By Air: Atlanta is a central hub, primarily served by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). With daily flights from around the world, it’s a convenient destination for both domestic and international travelers.
  2. By Car: Major interstates, including I-75, I-85, and I-20, converge in Atlanta, making it easily accessible by road.
  3. By Train: Amtrak operates routes connecting Atlanta with cities across the country, with stops at Peachtree Station, just north of downtown.

Major Airports

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is Atlanta’s primary airport and one of the busiest in the world. Located about 10 miles south of downtown, ATL offers a wide range of domestic and international flights, along with excellent amenities and services.

Getting to Downtown from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport

  1. MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority): The MARTA train is the quickest and most affordable way to reach downtown. The airport has its own MARTA station, located at the end of the Domestic Terminal. Simply board the Red or Gold line, and within 15-20 minutes, you’ll arrive in downtown Atlanta.
  2. Ride-Sharing and Taxis: Uber, Lyft, and taxis are available just outside the terminals, offering a convenient way to get directly to your hotel or event location in about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic.
  3. Shuttles and Private Car Services: Many hotels in downtown Atlanta offer shuttle services to and from the airport. Private car services are also available for a more personalized experience.
  4. Rental Cars: For those wanting flexibility, rental car services are available at the ATL Rental Car Center, connected to the terminals by an easy-to-use SkyTrain.
