“Lean for the Foundry” e-Learning modules now available!

Lean manufacturing has transformed industries. Now the AFS Institute is bringing lean training to metalcasting.

“Lean for the Foundry,” a new series of e-Learning modules, will teach metalcasters what they need to know about lean processes to improve productivity, reduce waste and cut costs in their foundries.

The curriculum includes four modules: “Introduction to Lean Manufacturing,” “Lean Manufacturing Principles,” “Lean Manufacturing Case Studies” and “Lean Manufacturing Application.”

Together, the modules take metalcasters from the basics of lean, such as identifying the seven primary sources of waste, to practical ways to apply those concepts in their foundries. Metalcasters will have the opportunity to complete a Lean Manufacturing Opportunity Form as part of the final module.

E-Learning modules from the AFS Institute are online, skills-based instructional programs covering all areas of metalcasting. They’re interactive, cost-effective, and on-demand, making them perfect for busy schedules. To schedule a free demo for this or any module, please contact Neal Bender, AFS business development specialist, at nbender@afsinc.org or 800-537-4237 ext. 213. To see all the e-Learning modules available, visit the AFS Store.
